TITLE: Bakery Sales Associate
BASIC PURPOSE AND FUNCTION: Provides courteous, personalized customer service. Maintains proper inventory levels of products and ensures the cleanliness and appearance of the Bakery Department.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Maintains and encourages an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on providing fast, friendly, courteous customer service. Engages in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, in-store intercom, and one-on-one customer contact.
Ensures cleanliness and sanitation of bakery equipment, utensils, bakeware, and work area. Ensures a safe work environment. Ability to use trash compactor and bailer.
Follows proper packaging and product handling procedures. Follows company guidelines and division schematics for setting up and maintaining the stock, cleanliness and appeal of product show cases, display tables, and special displays. Follows proper signing procedures. Assits with inventory receiving duties.
Slices bread and processes all bakery products. Helps customers with special orders for cakes and other bakery items. Prepares and displays product for sampling.
Responsible for following Albertson's code dating procedures for all in-store bakery products. Complies with state labeling requirements for packaged merchandise.
Uses work aids such as box knives, knives, bread slicers, photo cake machine, and microwave.
Responsible for staying informed on the price, ingredients, and availability of products. Keeps baker informed of inventory levels to ensure a constant supply of products. Prevents sale of out-dated products.
Responsible for performing proper and effective product demonstrations.
Opens and closes the bakery according to operational guidelines.
Responsible for performing all job duties with honesty and integrity.
Responsible for completing C.G.T. program.
Other necessary and required duties.
SKILLS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to be friendly, courteous, tactful and maintain composure in dealing with customers and co-workers. Must possess good communication skills, interpersonal skills, legible handwriting, and the ability to read and follow directions.
Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to frequently reach, lift, and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to approximately 55 lbs. Ability to carry, balance and stack large trays of product within the range of floor level to overhead. Requires manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination. Must be able to operate bakery utemsils and related equipment. Ability to walk and move quickly to complete job dities.
Mental alertness is necessary to ensure safe and accurate completion of work activities. Requires knowledge of basic math. Must be able to learn taste, content and perishability of products, safety and sanitation procedures, and department policies and procedures.
Exposure to potential hazards exists with respect to utensils, baking procedures, cleaning procedures, equipment, and work aides necessary to perform job duties. Exposure to temperatures approximately 400F while baking product in ovens. Frequent exposure to -20F while handling product in freezers. Hands are frequently exposed to water and cleaning agents. Working conditions consist of a temperature controlled store environment.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
